Aerosan Handles More Than 23,000 Tons of Flowers During Mother’s Day Season. Airport logistics company Aerosan handled more than 23,000 tons of flowers during the Mother’s Day season across its operations in Colombia and Ecuador, reinforcing its position as one of the leading perishables logistics operators in the region. The operation represented one of the most demanding logistical periods of the year due to the high concentration of flower exports within a short timeframe and the strict preservation conditions required for this type of cargo.

According to the company, the season required enhanced coordination between airlines, logistics operators, and airport teams to ensure export schedules were met while maintaining the cold chain throughout the entire process. To support the increased demand, Aerosan expanded the capacity of its refrigerated warehouses, cold storage rooms, and loading docks, while also adding extra personnel during the busiest operational days.

Leonardo Silva, Aerosan’s operations and safety manager, stated that flower transportation involves handling highly sensitive cargo with very limited logistical windows. He explained that the company focused on maintaining an agile, safe, and efficient operation to preserve cargo quality from reception through final shipment to international markets. In Ecuador, Aerosan handled more than 12,000 tons of flowers, mainly roses, reaching its busiest day on April 29, when 941 tons were transferred in a single day. In Colombia, the company managed more than 11,000 tons of flowers, recording a peak operation of 550 tons.
