The route cancellation will immediately reduce the availability of direct flights between Colombia and the Dominican Republic, impacting both leisure and business travelers. Despite the suspension, Wingo has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting affected passengers in accordance with the Colombian Aeronautical Regulations (RAC). The airline will provide the appropriate solutions, including refunds, rebooking options, or compensation where applicable, ensuring compliance with the country’s consumer protection framework.

In line with transparency requirements, Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority has ordered that the notification remain publicly available on its official website for three business days. The measure aims to keep passengers, industry stakeholders, and the general public informed about the airline’s contingency plans. Although the suspension represents a temporary setback for direct connectivity between Bogotá and Santo Domingo, the regulatory mechanisms currently in place are designed to minimize disruptions and safeguard passenger rights throughout the transition process.
