Riyadh Air Expands Airbus A350-1000 Order, Increasing Its Committed Fleet to 31 Aircraft. Riyadh Air continues to strengthen its expansion strategy with an additional order for six Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, bringing its total commitment for the type to 31 aircraft. The purchase is part of the agreement signed with Airbus in 2025, which includes the acquisition of up to 50 aircraft, and marks another important milestone in the development of Saudi Arabia’s new national carrier.

The Airbus A350-1000 will play a key role in Riyadh Air’s long-haul network, supporting the airline’s ambition to connect the Kingdom with more than 100 international destinations by the end of the decade. The order will also make Riyadh Air the first Saudi operator of the A350-1000.
“This additional order reaffirms our confidence in the airline’s growth and in the potential of Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector,” said Adam Boukadida, The Chief Financial Officer of Riyadh Air, noting that the investment will also contribute to achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 strategy.

Airbus highlighted that the A350-1000 combines one of the longest ranges in the industry with outstanding efficiency and passenger comfort. Capable of flying up to 18,000 kilometers (9,700 nautical miles) nonstop, the aircraft features Rolls-Royce engines and an advanced composite airframe that reduces fuel consumption, CO₂ emissions, and operating costs by 25% compared with previous-generation widebody aircraft. As of the end of June 2026, the A350 Family had accumulated 1,595 firm orders from 68 customers worldwide, reinforcing its position as one of Airbus’ most successful widebody programs.
