Air Transat makes Montreal–Dakar service year-round and expands Cancún network. The Canadian leisure carrier will operate nonstop flights between Montreal and Dakar throughout the year while adding new seasonal services to Cancún from Windsor and Fredericton. Air Transat has announced that its nonstop route between Montreal and Dakar will become a year-round service, reinforcing a connection that was launched in June 2026 and will now continue throughout the 2026–2027 winter season.
The airline said the route will operate once a week, every Friday, from October 30, 2026, through March 26, 2027, using Airbus A330 aircraft, the largest type in its fleet.During the summer season, Air Transat will continue offering two weekly frequencies, ensuring uninterrupted service between Montreal and the Senegalese capital.

The airline noted that the route is currently the only nonstop connection between Canada and Sub-Saharan Africa, serving both the large Senegalese community in Quebec and the growing demand from travelers seeking direct access to West Africa without connecting flights.
According to the airline, extending the service to year-round operations will provide greater flexibility and continuity for passengers traveling between Canada and Senegal for family visits, tourism, and business. The move also strengthens Air Transat’s long-haul network while expanding travel opportunities between North America and Africa.

In addition to its African expansion, Air Transat will further enhance its leisure network with new services to Cancún. Beginning December 19, 2026, the airline will launch a weekly nonstop flight between Windsor and Cancún, operating every Saturday through April 25, 2027, complementing its existing service from Windsor to Punta Cana.
The carrier also confirmed the return of its Fredericton–Cancún route with an extended operating season. The service will run from December 16, 2026, through April 29, 2027, with one weekly flight every Wednesday, providing additional vacation travel options from New Brunswick to one of Mexico’s most popular tourist destinations.
