American volverá a volar a Caracas

American Airlines Plans September 3 Return to Caracas. American Airlines is set to resume daily non-stop flights between Miami and Caracas on September 3, 2026, pending the reopening of the Venezuelan capital’s airport and favorable operational conditions. Service on the route was temporarily suspended following the June 24 earthquakes that caused the closure of Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía.

Venezuela Expansion and Relief Efforts

American had initially restored direct U.S.–Venezuela flights on April 30, 2026, after a seven-year hiatus, becoming the first U.S. carrier to re-enter the market. The airline further expanded its presence on July 14 by launching daily non-stop flights between Miami and Maracaibo, a service that has remained operational. During the earthquake emergency, American also operated a humanitarian relief flight between Miami and Caracas to deliver essential supplies to impacted communities.

Throughout the Caracas suspension, affected passengers were offered flexible rebooking options to reroute through Maracaibo. Pending final airport readiness, the September 3 target date will restore a crucial direct link between American’s primary Latin American hub in Miami and the Venezuelan capital.
