SATENA will once again serve as the official airline of the Harold Tejada Route 2026, as southern Huila, Colombia, prepares to welcome more than 5,000 participants and visitors for a cycling event combining sport, nature and tourism. For the second consecutive year, SATENA will be the official airline partner of the initiative, which will take place from October 23 to 25, featuring the municipalities of Pitalito, Isnos and San Agustín as its main destinations.

The event is led by Colombian professional cyclist Harold Tejada and aims to showcase the region’s natural, cultural and tourism attractions. Through the cycling route, southern Huila seeks to strengthen its position as a destination for sports tourism, an activity that drives visitor traffic and creates new business opportunities for local communities.

As part of its participation, SATENA will facilitate air transportation for cyclists, special guests and members of the event’s organizing team. The airline operates direct flights to Pitalito from Bogotá and Cali, connecting the region with two of Colombia’s major urban centers and making it easier for visitors to reach the event.

The arrival of athletes, accompanying guests and tourists over the three-day event represents an opportunity for hotels, restaurants, retailers, tour operators and transportation companies. This influx could provide a particular boost to the economies of Pitalito and San Agustín, where tourism plays an important role in local economic activity.

The route will also provide an opportunity to showcase some of the department’s main attractions. San Agustín is home to its renowned archaeological park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; Isnos is known for its mountainous landscapes and natural attractions; while Pitalito stands out for its coffee-growing tradition and handicrafts.
