Viva retoma sus vuelos directos entre Cancún y Acapulco

Viva Resumes Direct Nonstop Service Between Cancun and Acapulco. Mexican ultra-low-cost carrier Viva has celebrated the formal resumption of its nonstop flight route connecting Cancun International Airport (CUN) with Acapulco International Airport (ACA). The service is designed to expand direct point-to-point air connectivity between the southeastern and southwestern regions of Mexico, complementing the airline’s established connecting frequencies routed through Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA).

The restored corridor aims to capture surging demand across leisure tourism, visiting friends and relatives (VFR), and regional business travelers moving between the two coastal economies. The inaugural departure ceremonies at Cancun Airport were attended by Mara Lezama Espinosa, Governor of Quintana Roo; Ana Paty Peralta de la Peña, Municipal President of Benito Juárez; Noé Peralta Herrera, Tourism Secretary of Acapulco; Jesús Horacio González, Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Viva; and Alejandro Rosel, Institutional Relations Manager at Cancun Airport.

With this reinstatement, Viva reinforces its operations in Cancun, where it currently manages 21 nonstop routes alongside 11 express transfer connections serving major domestic and international hubs, including Guadalajara, Monterrey, Bogota, and the Mexico City capital system via MEX and AIFA. In the state of Guerrero, the carrier’s footprint now spans five active routes: operating from Acapulco toward Cancun, Monterrey, and Mexico City (AIFA); and connecting Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo directly to AIFA and via single-stop connections to Monterrey.
