United Airlines to Discontinue Nonstop Services to Tulum from Newark and Houston in January 2027. U.S. carrier United Airlines has confirmed it will cease scheduled operations to Felipe Carrillo Puerto Tulum International Airport (TQO) from two of its primary domestic hubs. Nonstop flights connecting the Mexican resort destination with Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston will terminate during the first week of January 2027 as part of a network adjustment across the Mexican Caribbean.

The carrier’s final daily flight between Newark and Tulum will operate on January 2, 2027, followed by the conclusion of the Houston–Tulum route on January 4, 2027. The withdrawal ends direct air access from two major travel markets that funnel high volumes of leisure and corporate travelers into the Riviera Maya region.

To assist customers booked on dates beyond the service suspensions, United is offering rebooking alternatives into Cancun International Airport (CUN)—located roughly 90 to 120 minutes by road from Tulum—or full refunds upon request. The departure of both routes represents a notable shift in Tulum’s international passenger connectivity, refocusing United’s regional capacity into Cancun.
