However, awareness of such opportunities remains limited, with 87% of respondents unaware of fully funded pilot programmes. So far, around 50 pilots have successfully graduated from the Speedbird scheme, highlighting British Airways’ commitment to widening access and attracting talent from diverse backgrounds.

Applicants must meet key requirements, including being aged between 17 and 58, holding relevant academic qualifications, and possessing a valid passport that allows unrestricted international travel.
