LATAM Cargo inaugura ruta directa de carga entre Frankfurt y Antofagasta

LATAM Group, through its cargo subsidiary LATAM Cargo Chile, continues expanding its international network with the launch of a new direct route linking Europe and northern Chile. The service, which began operations on May 23, connects Frankfurt Airport (FRA) in Germany with Andrés Sabella Airport (ANF) in Antofagasta and is operated by a Boeing 767 freighter. The new route provides a direct logistics solution for one of Chile’s most important industrial regions.

Operating once a week, the service adds 25 tonnes of cargo capacity to support the logistical needs of northern Chile, particularly the mining sector. The primary cargo transported on this route consists of machinery parts and components used in mining operations. By eliminating the need for secondary connections or ground transportation from Santiago, the direct flight offers a more efficient alternative to LATAM Cargo’s existing service that includes a stop in the Chilean capital.

According to Jorge Carretero, LATAM Cargo’s Sales Manager for Europe, the Frankfurt–Antofagasta route was developed to provide tailored logistics solutions and strengthen supply chains for customers in the region. The new service reinforces LATAM Cargo’s strategy of expanding its intercontinental corridors with dedicated capacity and reliable schedules. In addition to supporting high-value industries such as mining, the route further enhances international trade opportunities for northern Chile while strengthening the company’s position as a key logistics partner across South America
