Wingo to suspend Bogotá–Guatemala City route in August. The Colombian low-cost carrier will discontinue its nonstop service between Bogotá and Guatemala City on August 17, 2026, while maintaining its Medellín–Guatemala City route. Wingo has announced that it will suspend its international route between Bogotá (BOG) and Guatemala City (GUA) effective August 17, 2026, following a notification submitted to Colombia’s civil aviation authority.
The decision was communicated through filing No. 2026190010114634, dated July 29, 2026, in which AeroRepública S.A. – Wingo officially confirmed the discontinuation of the service. The suspension forms part of the airline’s ongoing network adjustments across its international operations. At this stage, Wingo has not indicated whether the route suspension will be temporary or permanent, nor has it provided additional details regarding the reasons behind the decision.

Passengers holding reservations for travel after August 17 are advised to follow the airline’s official communications regarding available travel alternatives, which may include itinerary changes or ticket refunds in accordance with Wingo’s customer protection policies. The suspension will reduce the number of nonstop options available between Bogotá and Guatemala City, a market also served by other regional airlines.
In an official statement, Wingo confirmed that it will continue operating the Bogotá–Guatemala City route until August 17, explaining that the decision is the result of a capacity adjustment across its international network aimed at optimizing operations. To assist affected passengers, the airline has implemented a protection plan that includes three options: a free route change subject to seat availability, a full refund of the ticket value plus an additional compensation equivalent to 30% of the airfare, or rebooking through Copa Airlines with a connection via Panama, subject to availability and applicable conditions.

Passengers may request their preferred option through Wingo’s official website, customer service channels, or the travel agency where the ticket was originally purchased. Despite the suspension of the Bogotá service, Wingo confirmed that it will continue serving the Guatemalan market through its nonstop route between Medellín and Guatemala City, maintaining direct connectivity between Colombia and Guatemala.
