Utilizing Starlink’s low-Earth orbit satellite network, the system delivers low-latency connections with download speeds exceeding 500 Mbps, allowing passengers to stream content, work, shop, and connect multiple devices in flight. Leveraging this enhanced bandwidth, Aer Lingus has also introduced IMG’s Sport 24 channel, giving travelers access to live broadcasts of international football, golf, and tennis events directly on their personal devices.

Customer satisfaction surveys reveal a 27-point increase in connectivity ratings for Starlink-equipped aircraft compared to the rest of the fleet, with up to 85% of passengers connecting per flight and data usage reaching up to 950 GB on select trips. Aer Lingus engineering teams at Dublin Airport are carrying out the retrofits, aiming to have 100% of its long-haul fleet equipped with Starlink by the end of 2026.
