SKY Airline Launches Three New Routes to Boost Connectivity from Peru. Chilean ultra-low-cost carrier SKY Airline has announced three new routes operating out of Peru to strengthen its South American footprint. The expansion introduces two direct international routes—Cusco–Santiago and Lima–Rio de Janeiro—alongside the domestic link Lima–Puerto Maldonado. With these additions, SKY will operate eight direct international routes and 17 domestic connections from Peru, a market that currently accounts for 30% of the holding’s overall operations.

The Lima–Rio de Janeiro service will launch on December 28, 2026, operating daily during the summer peak as SKY’s second Brazilian destination from Lima after São Paulo. The seasonal Cusco–Santiago route will begin on January 3, 2027, offering a daily flight to connect Chile directly with Peru’s imperial city. Domestically, SKY will resume daily Lima–Puerto Maldonado flights on March 1, 2027, facilitating access to the Peruvian Amazon and the Tambopata National Reserve.

Tickets are already available on SKY’s official channels, with round-trip fares starting at $283 for Cusco–Santiago and $471 for Lima–Rio de Janeiro, while Lima–Puerto Maldonado single-leg fares start at $77. As an introductory promotion, the airline is offering a 50% discount on tickets for children aged 2 to 13 on the new Rio de Janeiro and Santiago routes. Since entering the Peruvian market in 2019, SKY has carried over 18 million passengers in the country.
