Fog and low visibility cause flight delays at Bogotá’s El Dorado Airport. Colombia’s Aeronáutica Civil issued an alert on the morning of April 15 due to adverse weather conditions affecting operations at El Dorado International Airport. Dense fog combined with light rain has significantly reduced runway visibility, forcing the implementation of Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) procedures and impacting overall flight schedules.

According to the latest METAR report, visibility is currently around 2 kilometers, with a cloud ceiling near 1,000 feet and conditions described as light rain and mist. Winds remain light and variable, which, combined with reduced visibility, limits the airport’s operational capacity. As a result, aircraft departures and arrivals must be spaced out, leading to cascading delays across multiple domestic routes.
