The airline’s strong performance is driven by its focus on efficiency, supported by one of the youngest fleets in the industry, with an average age of approximately five years. Notably, 85% of Frontier’s fleet consists of fuel-efficient Airbus A320neo family aircraft, which contribute to lower fuel burn and reduced emissions. Combined with a range of fuel-saving initiatives, these factors enable the airline to minimize its environmental footprint while maintaining competitive operations.

In 2025, Frontier achieved the highest fuel efficiency among major U.S. airlines, delivering 46% more miles per gallon compared to the industry’s weighted average, measured in available seat miles per gallon. According to Trevor Stedke, Senior Vice President of Operations, this recognition validates the company’s ongoing efforts to cut emissions while also delivering cost savings to customers.
