Dominican airline Arajet continues to strengthen its position in the aviation market after posting solid results in the first quarter of 2026. According to figures released by the Junta de Aviación Civil, the carrier transported a total of 496,218 passengers between January and March, including connecting travelers, marking one of the strongest periods in its history.

In March alone, the airline carried nearly 150,000 passengers, making it the second-best month on record after January. This figure also includes around 16,000 connecting passengers, highlighting the Dominican Republic’s growing role as a regional air travel hub. These results position Arajet as the fourth-largest airline in the country during the quarter, behind JetBlue, American Airlines, and Delta Air Lines.

According to Víctor Pacheco, the airline remains focused on surpassing 2 million passengers by the end of 2026, while continuing to position the Dominican Republic as a key air hub in the Americas. Top destinations included New York, Buenos Aires, Miami, Medellín, and Bogotá. The United States accounted for 25% of total passengers, followed by Colombia with 18% and Argentina with 14%, reflecting Arajet’s sustained expansion across Latin America.
