Emirates unveils Airbus A380 featuring giant UAE flag livery honoring national unity. The airline Emirates has unveiled a striking new special livery on one of its iconic Airbus A380 aircraft, featuring a massive United Arab Emirates flag stretched across the fuselage. The aircraft, registered A6-EVG, showcases an extended version of the airline’s well-known tail design and serves as a tribute to the spirit, ambition, and unity of the UAE.

The initiative is part of the “This Flag Will Always Fly” campaign launched by Emirates in response to a nationwide call from Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai. The campaign encouraged citizens and residents to raise the national flag as a symbol of solidarity, pride, and collective responsibility during recent national challenges.

Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of the airline, stated that the company is proud to answer the national call and emphasized that every Emirates aircraft has carried the UAE flag since the airline’s founding. According to him, the new livery represents a tribute to a country that has played a fundamental role in the airline’s global growth and success. The new design features the colors of the UAE flag in a bold three-dimensional style that spans both sides of the aircraft. The specially painted A380 has already operated flights to destinations such as New York and Brisbane and is expected to continue serving additional routes across Emirates’ global network, making the national symbol visible in airports and cities around the world.
The airline also confirmed plans to apply the same special design to a Boeing 777 aircraft, further expanding the initiative across its fleet. Emirates highlighted previous commemorative liveries, including the 2017 tribute to Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and special aircraft designs created for Expo 2020 Dubai, reinforcing the role of its aircraft as flying symbols of national identity and pride.
