Aerocivil Announces Temporary Airspace Restrictions Over Bogotá for Colombia’s Independence Day. Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority (Aerocivil) has announced temporary airspace closures over Bogotá as part of the celebrations for Colombia’s Independence Day and the traditional aerial display by the Colombian Aerospace Force. The measure may result in schedule adjustments for flights arriving at or departing from El Dorado International Airport during the holiday weekend from July 18 to July 20.

- The temporary restrictions will be in effect on Saturday, July 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- On Monday, July 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m..
According to Aerocivil, the closures were coordinated in advance with airlines and aviation operators to minimize operational disruptions. The authority advised passengers to check the status of their flights directly with their airline before traveling to the airport, as some itineraries may be adjusted. Airlines have also been asked to keep passengers informed and provide suitable alternatives to reduce the impact of the temporary restrictions.

Additionally, Aerocivil reminded the public that the operation of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) will be strictly prohibited within the restricted airspace during the scheduled closure periods as part of the security measures implemented for the Independence Day events.
