American Airlines Launches Daily Miami–Maracaibo Service. American Airlines has expanded its presence in Venezuela with the launch of a new daily service between Miami (MIA) and Maracaibo (MAR), which began operations on July 14, 2026. The new route comes just weeks after the airline resumed flights to Caracas and marks another step in the gradual restoration of the country’s international air connectivity following the earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24.

With this addition, American aims to strengthen links between Venezuela and the United States, supporting both business travel and family reunification.The route is operated with Embraer E175 aircraft featuring a premium cabin and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi sponsored by AT&T. The schedule provides passengers with convenient access to American Airlines’ extensive international network through its Miami hub.

  • The daily flight departs Miami International Airport at 10:10 a.m., arriving in Maracaibo at 1:30 p.m. local time.
  • In the opposite direction, the flight leaves Maracaibo at 2:10 p.m. and lands in Miami at 5:15 p.m. local time.

Pascual Álvarez, American Airlines’ Managing Director for South America, Central America, and the Caribbean, said the launch of the new route reflects the airline’s commitment to Venezuela at a pivotal time for the country. He noted that air transportation plays a key role in connecting people and supporting economic recovery, adding that the expansion to Maracaibo, together with the recent resumption of flights to Caracas, demonstrates American Airlines’ confidence in the Venezuelan market and its long-term commitment to strengthening connectivity.
