Volotea to launch the first-ever route between Murcia and Algiers. Volotea has announced the launch of a new route connecting the Region of Murcia International Airport with Houari Boumédiène International Airport in Algiers. The service is scheduled to begin on November 28, 2026, marking the first nonstop connection between Murcia and Algeria.
- ✈ Flights will operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, departing Murcia at 17:30.

The new route is expected to strengthen both leisure travel and visits to friends and relatives between the two destinations. The addition is part of Volotea’s continued expansion in the Region of Murcia. With the launch of Algiers, the airline will operate seven routes from Murcia to four countries: Spain (Asturias, Barcelona, and Bilbao), France (Lille and Marseille), Italy (Venice), and Algeria (Algiers).
Volotea also confirmed that it will increase service on the Murcia–Bilbao route during the 2026/27 winter season, operating two weekly flights between November 28 and January 5 to meet higher holiday demand. Founder and CEO Carlos Muñoz said the new route reflects the airline’s long-term commitment to Murcia while helping boost tourism and local economic activity.

Volotea will also expand its capacity in Murcia during 2026, offering more than 88,500 seats, a 15% increase compared with 2025. Since launching operations at the airport in 2019, the airline has carried more than 275,000 passengers, achieving a 90% load factor, an on-time performance close to 80%, and a 100% flight completion rate. Customer satisfaction has also remained strong, with more than 95% of passengers recommending the airline.
