The new service will not only add another direct link between Argentina and Colombia but will also provide passengers with access to a broader network of connecting destinations. From Medellín, travelers will be able to continue to other Colombian cities, including destinations in the Caribbean, as well as Punta Cana. Meanwhile, passengers from Colombia will have seamless connections in Buenos Aires to JetSMART’s domestic network across Argentina.
The new route is part of JetSMART’s regional expansion strategy, aimed at strengthening connectivity between South America’s key markets through its ultra-low-cost business model. The airline believes Medellín is experiencing growing demand from both leisure and business travelers, and expects the new service to further stimulate passenger traffic between the two countries while expanding travel options within the region. The route also reinforces JetSMART’s presence in the Colombian market, where it continues to broaden its network and improve regional connectivity.

The announcement comes as JetSMART continues its sustained growth in Argentina, where it has carried more than 16 million passengers since launching operations. As part of its fleet expansion plan, the airline expects to operate 23 aircraft by the Southern Hemisphere summer of 2027, including ten Airbus A321neo aircraft. The additional capacity will support the introduction of new international routes while strengthening the carrier’s position as one of South America’s leading low-cost airlines. With Medellín joining its route map, JetSMART continues to expand travel opportunities between Argentina and Colombia while reinforcing its long-term regional growth strategy.
