Avianca Expands Venezuelan Network with New Flights to Caracas and Maracaibo. Avianca, part of the Abra Group, has announced the expansion of its flight operations between Colombia and Venezuela. Effective September 1, 2026, the airline will reactivate daily flights between Bogotá and Caracas following a comprehensive assessment of operational and safety conditions in coordination with aviation authorities. The daily service will be operated using Airbus A320 aircraft configured for 180 passengers.

New Route and Expanded Footprint

The expansion also features the launch of a new direct route connecting Bogotá and Maracaibo starting August 28, with daily flights operated between El Dorado International Airport and La Chinita International Airport. This new service complements Avianca’s existing daily non-stop flights between Bogotá and Valencia. Combined, the airline will offer more than 7,500 weekly seats between Colombia and Venezuela across three key destinations.

Flight Operations & Schedule

• Bogotá – Caracas: Daily service operated under flight numbers AV122 and AV123.

• Bogotá – Maracaibo: Daily service operated under flight numbers AV94 and AV95.

• Bogotá – Valencia: Ongoing daily service, subject to regulatory approvals.

David Alemán, Avianca’s Sales Director for South America, emphasized the airline’s long-standing commitment to Venezuela—spanning over six decades—highlighting that the expanded network will facilitate family reunions, foster corporate trade, and enhance regional connectivity.
