The operational result follows a planned reduction in network capacity. During the month, available seat kilometers (ASK) decreased by 8% year-over-year. Trimming available seats enabled the airline to boost aircraft occupancy while raising yields by 14% to 10.30 U.S. cents. On-time performance across the carrier’s scheduled flights finished the month at 85.4%.
Passenger breakdown data highlights a commercial pivot toward point-to-point travel to and from Iceland. Inbound traffic to the country grew 7% year-over-year, accounting for 38% of total passengers, while outbound travel from local residents rose 11%, representing 19% of the customer base. Conversely, connecting transit traffic fell 15%, making up 38% of total volume, while domestic routes dropped 7%, comprising the remaining 5%.
