This new route significantly strengthens connectivity to North Carolina’s Research Triangle, which includes Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. Known as a major hub for innovation and technology, the region is home to the Research Triangle Park, as well as top-tier universities such as North Carolina State University, Duke University, and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Consequently, the new service is expected to enhance business, academic, and research collaboration between Ireland and the United States.

Moreover, the launch comes at a strategic time ahead of the Aer Lingus College Football Classic 2026, which will be held at the Aviva Stadium. The event will feature the University of North Carolina and Texas Christian University, drawing significant transatlantic travel demand. In this context, Aer Lingus aims to capitalize on increased passenger flows while continuing to expand its North American network, which will soon include Pittsburgh and reach a total of 24 routes, reinforcing its long-term growth strategy.
