Avianca Strengthens Leadership with New Corporate Affairs Vice Presidency. Avianca, part of Grupo Abra, announced the creation of a Senior Vice Presidency of Corporate Affairs, a role that will be led by Ángela María Orozco Gómez. The position will report directly to the airline’s CEO, Gabriel Oliva, and will oversee public affairs, sustainability, corporate communications, and reputation across all markets where the company operates. This move underscores Avianca’s intention to strengthen its institutional positioning and strategic engagement capabilities.

Orozco brings extensive experience from both the public and private sectors, having served as Colombia’s Minister of Transport between 2018 and 2022, among other high-level roles. During her tenure, she led the aviation sector through one of its most challenging periods during the pandemic, while also advancing key initiatives at El Dorado International Airport, including the creation of an aeronautical committee and the development of capacity studies. Her background in trade and export promotion further enhances her ability to contribute to Avianca’s corporate strategy.
