GOL Expands U.S. Network with Surge in Flights for 2026 Sporting Event.GOL Linhas Aéreas has announced a major expansion of its international network to the United States ahead of the mid-year 2026 peak season, driven by strong demand linked to a major global sporting event. The airline will add 345 extra flights to key destinations such as Miami International Airport (MIA) and Orlando International Airport (MCO), representing a 71% increase over its regular schedule. In terms of capacity, this translates into 64,170 additional seats, bringing the total to 158,520 seats between June 3 and August 9, aligning with both the tournament calendar and peak holiday periods across the Americas.

At the same time, GOL is strengthening its connectivity strategy through its partnership with American Airlines, enabling seamless connections from Miami to multiple destinations across the continent. The airline will also mark a milestone with the launch of its first long-haul route: Rio de Janeiro – New York, starting July 8 with three weekly round-trip flights between Rio de Janeiro–Galeão International Airport (GIG) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). This move reinforces GOL’s international expansion strategy while providing passengers with more direct travel options to the United States.

Meanwhile, Brasília International Airport (BSB) will be consolidated as the airline’s main hub for U.S.-bound operations during this period, with up to four daily flights to Miami and Orlando. Additional capacity will also be deployed from key cities in Brazil’s North and Northeast regions, including Fortaleza, Manaus, and Belém, further strengthening regional connectivity. All international services will be operated using modern Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, featuring the option of GOL Premium Economy, allowing the airline to efficiently meet rising demand while enhancing the passenger experience.
