ITA Airways Expands Summer Network with New Routes and Added Frequencies.ITA Airways has announced a strategic expansion of its Summer 2026 schedule, aiming to meet strong seasonal demand and reinforce its presence across key Mediterranean leisure markets. Through a combination of new routes and increased frequencies, the airline continues to demonstrate its ability to adapt its network to evolving travel trends while supporting tourism flows to and from Italy.

Between July and September, the carrier will introduce three new routes from Rome Fiumicino Airport to Mykonos (starting July 25) and Alicante (starting July 18), both operating twice weekly, as well as to Trapani, which will feature daily service from July 1. In addition, ITA Airways will increase frequencies on existing routes to destinations such as Brindisi, Lampedusa, Pantelleria, Palma de Mallorca and Nice, enhancing capacity and offering greater flexibility during peak travel periods.

This expansion complements previously announced seasonal services from Rome to Malaga, Valencia and Marseille, operating from June through September. According to Emiliana Limosani, the strategy reflects a selective growth approach focused on high-demand leisure destinations, even amid a complex geopolitical environment. Ultimately, ITA Airways aims to strengthen its Rome hub as a leading gateway for international tourism while reinforcing its position as Italy’s reference carrier.
