United to Resume Nonstop Flights Between Houston and Caracas After Nearly a Decade.United Airlines announced the return of nonstop daily service between George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston and Simón Bolívar International Airport in Caracas starting August 11, marking the restoration of one of the most important air links between the United States and Venezuela. The airline suspended its Venezuela operations in June 2017, making this relaunch a significant milestone for both countries and for travelers seeking direct connectivity after nearly nine years without United service on the route. The flights will be operated daily using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, strengthening economic, commercial, and family ties between the two nations.

The announcement also signals a new chapter in aviation relations between the United States and Venezuela following the authorization to resume commercial air operations between the two countries. U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy stated that the route will help create new economic opportunities and support travel related to the energy sector. Meanwhile, Patrick Quayle, United’s Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances, emphasized that the service will strengthen cultural and economic connections across the Americas. Tickets for the new flights are already available through United’s website and mobile app, although the operation remains subject to final government approval.
