Porter Airlines inaugura vuelos directos entre Ottawa y Kelowna

Porter Airlines Launches Nonstop Ottawa–Kelowna Service. Porter Airlines is expanding its presence in British Columbia with the launch of a new nonstop route between Ottawa International Airport and Kelowna International Airport. Porter becomes the only airline offering direct flights between the two cities, strengthening east-west connectivity across Canada. The service began this week with five weekly roundtrip flights and will increase to six weekly frequencies in June as part of the airline’s continued domestic expansion strategy.

The new route complements Porter’s existing Kelowna service from Toronto Pearson and further strengthens its network across British Columbia, which already includes Vancouver and Victoria. Flights are operated with the new 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, recognized for having one of the lowest fuel consumption rates per seat in its category and for being among the quietest single-aisle aircraft currently in service. Porter’s signature two-by-two seating configuration means there are no middle seats on any flight. Passengers also benefit from complimentary beer and wine served in glassware, premium Canadian snacks, and free high-speed Wi-Fi onboard.

Andrew Pierce, vice president of network planning and reporting at Porter Airlines, stated that the expansion in Kelowna reinforces the carrier’s commitment to improving connectivity across Canada while offering travelers more convenient and reliable travel options. Local officials and airport executives also highlighted the economic and tourism benefits of the new route. Sam Samaddar, CEO of Kelowna International Airport, noted that the direct service provides greater travel opportunities and strengthens access to Canada’s capital region. Kelowna Mayor Tom Dyas added that the new east-west connection will help support tourism, business growth, and major events as the city continues positioning itself as an important destination within Canada.
