Abra Group Mobilizes Avianca and GOL to Support Humanitarian Relief Efforts in Venezuela. Following the devastating earthquake that struck Venezuela on June 24, Abra Group launched a coordinated humanitarian response through Avianca and GOL to support emergency relief efforts. By leveraging the operational and logistical capabilities of both airlines, the group has facilitated the transportation of essential supplies and specialized personnel to the affected areas.

Avianca has transported nearly 120 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Venezuela, including food, medicines, drinking water, hygiene kits, tents, clothing, pet supplies, and other essential items. The airline has also carried search and rescue teams, medical brigades, firefighters, and other specialized personnel in coordination with government authorities and humanitarian organizations. Among these operations was a humanitarian flight organized by the Government of El Salvador to deliver relief supplies and support personnel.
Meanwhile, GOL, in partnership with Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, operated a humanitarian flight carrying six tonnes of medical supplies, including 350,000 vaccine doses for communities affected by the disaster. Avianca has also introduced a temporary service between Bogotá and Valencia, operating two daily flights with special fares and flexible travel conditions to help maintain connectivity while operations at Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía continue to recover.

In addition, the LifeMiles loyalty program launched a mileage donation campaign through its Miles Bank, raising more than 10 million miles contributed by its members. Abra Group has pledged to match those donations to continue supporting the transportation of rescue teams, medical personnel, and specialists. The company reaffirmed its commitment to assisting humanitarian efforts and supporting affected communities throughout the recovery process.
