An Enugu Air Embraer E170LR, registration 5N-ENR, was involved in a runway excursion after landing at Benin City Airport, Nigeria, on July 23, 2026. The aircraft, operating flight EE4264 from Lagos with 63 passengers and five crew members on board, overran the end of Runway 05 by approximately 330 meters (1,000 feet).

During the runway excursion, the landing gear collapsed, causing substantial damage to the aircraft. Despite the severity of the incident, the airline confirmed that all passengers and crew evacuated safely, with no injuries or fatalities reported. Nigeria’s Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) stated that the accident occurred at approximately 15:10 local time (14:10 UTC) and confirmed that an official investigation has been launched. An investigation team arrived at the accident site within minutes to begin examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Enugu Air also confirmed that the aircraft has been secured and that the relevant aviation authorities have been notified. No weather information has been released for the time of the landing, and investigators will determine the factors that led to the runway excursion.
