Frontier Airlines Requests Approval for Four New Routes Between Orlando and Colombia. Frontier Airlines has submitted an official application to Colombia’s Special Administrative Unit of Civil Aeronautics (Aerocivil) to operate international passenger, mail, and cargo services connecting Orlando International Airport (MCO) with four major Colombian destinations.

The ultra-low-cost carrier is requesting up to fourth freedom traffic rights to launch daily operations across all four proposed routes. According to the official regulatory filing, Frontier Airlines plans to operate 7 weekly frequencies on each of the following routes:

  • ✈ Orlando (MCO) – Bogotá (BOG) – Orlando (MCO)
  • ✈ Orlando (MCO) – Medellín (MDE) – Orlando (MCO)
  • ✈ Orlando (MCO) – Cartagena (CTG) – Orlando (MCO)
  • ✈ Orlando (MCO) – Cali (CLO) – Orlando (MCO)

The services are proposed to be operated using Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 family aircraft. If authorized, the expansion will significantly boost direct air connectivity between Florida and Colombia, offering 28 weekly flights and providing lower-cost alternatives for both leisure and VFR (visiting friends and relatives) travel segments.
