United anuncia la mayor expansión internacional de su historia

United Airlines Unveils Largest International Expansion in Its History. United Airlines has announced the largest international expansion in its history, adding 10 new cities across Europe and Asia alongside three new routes scheduled to launch in March 2027. This milestone builds on the carrier’s global growth strategy, which has seen 58 international destinations added to its network since 2017. With these additions, United will serve more than 160 international destinations outside the United States.

The expansion introduces direct services from San Francisco to Okinawa, Japan, and from Washington Dulles to Toulouse, France. However, Newark Liberty International Airport will drive the bulk of the growth, gaining new non-stop flights to Luxembourg, Marseille, Ibiza, Valencia, Terceira, Ljubljana, Olbia, and Catania. United highlighted that eight of these ten new cities are currently not served non-stop by any other U.S. airline, providing exclusive point-to-point transatlantic and transpacific connectivity.

The announcement coincided with the unveiling of United’s new long-range single-aisle aircraft, the Airbus A321XLR (named “Born to Explore”). The carrier plans to deploy the A321XLR on select long-haul routes to optimize operational efficiency on secondary international markets. Tickets for the new services will be released progressively across United’s booking channels.
