San Rafael Airport Opens Phase One of Its New Passenger Terminal. San Rafael Airport (AFA), located in the southern region of Mendoza, Argentina, has officially inaugurated the first phase of its new passenger terminal. Executed by Aeropuertos Argentina alongside the National Airport System Regulatory Body (ORSNA), the modernization project has required an investment of $15 million USD to date, out of a total projected budget of $20 million USD upon final completion.

Infrastructure Breakdown
The completed first phase incorporates over 1,790 square meters of new facility footprint designed to operate while construction on phase two continues:
- ✈ 1,200 m² of covered passenger service and waiting areas.
- ✈ 120 m² dedicated to a temporary check-in facility.
- ✈ 112 m² of administrative and operational offices for airport agencies and management.
- ✈ 360 m² for a new technical services facility.
- ✈ 380 m² of semi-covered space for circulation galleries and baggage handling area.

Phase two will focus on remodeling the existing structure and fully integrating the terminal complex to support growing air connectivity in the Mendoza province.
