American Airlines Debuts Refreshed Boeing 777-300ER on New York–Buenos Aires Route. American Airlines will commercially debut its refreshed Boeing 777-300ER on its New York to Buenos Aires route, with the inaugural flight scheduled for September 2 between John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE). The carrier operates a fleet of 20 units of this aircraft model, primarily deployed on its long-haul international routes connecting to destinations such as London, Tokyo, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, and Sydney.

The cabin retrofit incorporates a new design inspired by the airline’s Boeing 787-9 and Airbus A321XLR interiors, featuring upgrades to lighting, materials, and overall passenger comfort. The updated Boeing 777-300ER will feature 144 premium class seats, including 70 Flagship Suite seats equipped with privacy doors, expanded storage space, and a chaise lounge seating position. Additionally, the cabin configuration includes 44 Premium Economy seats fitted with redesigned headrests, adjustable calf and footrests, and extra storage space, alongside 30 Main Cabin Extra seats offering enhanced legroom.
The Flagship experience begins on the ground with priority check-in, security screening, boarding, and baggage handling, alongside access to Flagship Lounges. Inflight, Flagship Suite passengers will receive a multi-course dining service paired with selected wines, amenity kits, and specialized bedding designed for enhanced rest. Meanwhile, Premium Economy passengers will benefit from wireless charging pads, water bottle holders, and AC and USB-C power outlets, while the Economy cabin provides an extensive inflight entertainment catalog.

Another key enhancement is the introduction of complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi sponsored by AT&T for AAdvantage members and passengers using the service throughout the flight. With the progressive rollout of the Flagship Suite, Flagship First will no longer be available for purchase on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft for travel starting November 19, 2026. American Airlines will also phase out Flagship First on select transcontinental routes beginning March 28, 2027, as it continues integrating the Airbus A321XLR into its mainline fleet.
