Strategically located in northern Patagonia, the Neuquén radar plays a critical role in supporting operations managed by control centers connected to Ezeiza International Airport and Comodoro Rivadavia Airport. Consequently, the upgrade expands radar coverage across a wide sector of Argentine airspace, enabling better traffic flow management and increasing operational capacity. At the same time, the integration of advanced technologies such as Mode S and ADS-B provides more accurate and comprehensive flight data, significantly improving situational awareness for air traffic controllers.

Moreover, the project was executed without disrupting services, thanks to the temporary deployment of the “Mamboretá” mobile radar system. It also included key infrastructure improvements, ensuring optimal performance and long-term reliability. This upgrade is part of a nationwide initiative to renew 22 radar systems, with contributions from INVAP and Indra. Ultimately, these efforts are building a more robust, modern, and internationally aligned air navigation system across Argentina.
