Iberia has information a significant increase in its operations on the route connecting Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) in Madrid with Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport (SCL) in Santiago de Chile, starting in November. This decision responds to sustained demand growth between Europe and South America, reinforcing the strategic importance of this transatlantic corridor for both passenger traffic and commercial exchange. As part of this expansion, Iberia will add more frequencies to its second daily flight, which will operate every day except Tuesdays, representing a notable increase in seat capacity. The service will be operated with Airbus A350-900 aircraft, configured with 314 seats across three classes: business, premium economy, and economy. Flight IB113 will depart Madrid at 13:20 and arrive in Santiago at 21:40, while the return flight IB114 will leave Santiago at 23:20 and land in Madrid at 17:00. This schedule is designed to provide greater flexibility for passengers while also improving connectivity with Iberia’s broader network across Europe and beyond.

With this increase, Iberia will reach a total of 111 monthly frequencies on the route, surpassing LATAM Airlines, which currently operates 85 frequencies. Consequently, this move strengthens the Spanish carrier’s competitive position in one of the most important transatlantic markets. Moreover, it underscores Iberia’s commitment to expanding its footprint in South America, directly addressing rising demand while consolidating its long-term international growth strategy.
