However, rising fuel costs remain a key challenge. The average fuel price reached $2.96 per gallon, up 15.2% compared to the previous year. In response, JetBlue is implementing measures to mitigate these pressures, including capacity adjustments, cost controls, and fuel optimization strategies. The airline expects to recover 30% to 40% of fuel cost increases in the second quarter, with full recovery targeted by early 2027. Additionally, capacity will be reduced in off-peak periods to better align supply with demand.

Operationally, Fort Lauderdale continues to play a central role in JetBlue’s network strategy, delivering strong performance with a 5% increase in RASM alongside 23% capacity growth. At the same time, the airline is strengthening its financial position, ending the quarter with $2.4 billion in liquidity and securing $500 million in aircraft-backed financing. Looking ahead, JetBlue remains confident in its JetForward strategy, which is expected to drive long-term profitability. With continued momentum in bookings and premium cabin performance, the airline is positioning itself to navigate volatility while sustaining growth in 2026.
