American Airlines resumes nonstop flights between the U.S. and Venezuela after seven years. American Airlines made history by operating the first nonstop flight between the United States and Venezuela in seven years. Flight 3599 departed from Miami and landed in Caracas, restoring a key air link that had been suspended since 2019. This milestone marks a significant step in reconnecting both countries, strengthening travel, business, and tourism ties.
Onboard the inaugural flight, passengers were welcomed with a special announcement from the captain and enjoyed a Venezuelan-inspired menu, including traditional dishes such as cachapas and chicken salad, along with chocolate. Upon arrival in Caracas, customers, airline executives, and government officials gathered for a gate celebration to commemorate the historic return. The airline, which began operations in Venezuela in 1987, is reaffirming its long-standing commitment to the market after decades of service.
Looking ahead, American Airlines plans to expand its presence by adding a second daily flight between Miami and Caracas starting May 21, operated with Embraer 175 aircraft by Envoy. In addition, the airline is preparing to resume service to Maracaibo in the coming months, subject to government approval. With its major hub in Miami offering extensive global connectivity, American Airlines is positioning itself to once again play a leading role in linking Venezuela with the United States and beyond.
