Southern Chile is once again expected to be one of the most popular regions during the winter season thanks to its snowy landscapes, nature tourism and access to Patagonia. Among all domestic routes, Puerto Montt is projected to register the highest passenger traffic in SKY’s network, with more than 124,000 travelers expected during the three-month period. In addition, Valdivia stands out as one of the fastest-growing destinations, with nearly 31,400 passengers projected, representing an increase of almost 80% compared to the previous year.

Other southern destinations are also showing strong growth. Osorno is expected to transport approximately 27,700 passengers, reflecting a 15.7% increase, while the Puerto Montt–Balmaceda route is projected to carry around 39,700 travelers, up 20.5% year-over-year. Meanwhile, Concepción and Temuco will continue to maintain significant passenger demand with estimated traffic of 58,300 and 39,700 passengers, respectively.

At the same time, northern Chile will remain a preferred option for travelers seeking warmer weather during the winter months. Antofagasta and Calama are expected to handle 87,000 and 81,600 passengers, respectively, while Iquique projects more than 53,500 travelers. Arica, known for its year-round warm climate, expects around 33,000 passengers this winter season.

According to Francisca Valenzuela, SKY’s Sales Manager, these figures reflect the airline’s commitment to strengthening domestic tourism and improving regional air connectivity across Chile.
