Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority (Aerocivil) has inaugurated a modern domestic baggage claim hall at Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport in Barranquilla, a project aimed at improving passenger service and strengthening the region’s airport infrastructure.

Among the upgrades are new baggage conveyor belts designed to speed up luggage delivery, a high-capacity air conditioning system, escalators, an elevator for passengers with reduced mobility, and real-time information technology providing updates on baggage status.
🏗️ The total investment planned by the National Government and Aerocivil exceeds COP 46 billion, funding maintenance, modernization, and expansion projects across various areas of the airport terminal.
📈 Additional works are currently underway, including improvements to the international pier, immigration facilities, structural reinforcement, and roof waterproofing, all aimed at further enhancing the airport’s operational capacity.
