Sala Panamá: New Interactive Experience Invites Transit Passengers to Discover the Country. Copa Airlines, together with the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP), PROMTUR Panama, and Tocumen International Airport, has inaugurated Sala Panamá, a new digital and interactive space designed to introduce transit passengers to the country’s main tourist, cultural, and natural attractions. Located in the connection corridor between Terminals 1 and 2 at Tocumen International Airport, the initiative aims to promote the Panama Stopover program and encourage travelers to turn their layovers into future visits to the destination.

The experience allows visitors to explore 13 iconic destinations across Panama through audiovisual content, interactive maps, and immersive experiences. Passengers can also create personalized itineraries ranging from 3, 5, 7, and up to 15 days, tailored to their interests in gastronomy, culture, history, nature, and beach experiences. The launch coincides with the expansion of the Panama Stopover program, which now allows travelers to stay in the country for up to 15 days at no additional airfare cost.

During the inauguration, tourism and aviation authorities highlighted the initiative’s role in strengthening Panama’s international promotion. The project is part of a strategic partnership between Copa Airlines, ATP, PROMTUR Panama, and Tocumen International Airport, leveraging the connectivity of the Hub of the Americas to boost tourism, job creation, and economic development. In 2026, the Panama Stopover program is expected to attract 250,000 visitors, further establishing itself as one of the country’s most important tourism promotion platforms.
