Key enhancements include an expanded Extended Comfort section, high-speed free Wi-Fi presented by TELUS, four-way adjustable headrests, personal device holders for phones and tablets, new charging ports, and coat hooks. Through these cabin upgrades, WestJet seeks to align its onboard product with modern traveler preferences and ensure product consistency across all fleet configurations.

The modernization program for previous-generation Boeing 737 aircraft will begin in September and run through late 2027. During 2026, approximately 14 Boeing 737-800 aircraft will receive the interior overhaul and expanded Extended Comfort seating. Simultaneously, the airline is repainting its narrowbody fleet, expecting all aircraft to feature its signature turquoise and navy livery before the end of 2026.

Additionally, WestJet completed a project in mid-June to restore seat pitch across Boeing 737 aircraft that temporarily operated with 180 seats. All affected planes have returned to a 174-seat configuration, featuring refreshed interiors and complimentary Wi-Fi. Together, these investments reinforce the carrier’s strategy to elevate the passenger experience across its long-haul domestic and international networks.
