One of the most notable developments was the expansion of international connectivity from airports outside the capital. In September, 181,068 passengers traveled abroad directly from airports in Argentina’s interior regions without transiting through Buenos Aires. This represented an increase of 17% compared with 2025, 42% versus 2024, and 75% compared with 2023.
Between January and September 2026, this travel segment totaled 2,083,547 passengers, up 28% from the same period in 2025. The figure also exceeded the 2024 total by 82% and the 2023 figure by 127%.
According to the published data, 28 international routes currently connect cities across Argentina’s interior directly with overseas destinations. This expansion is part of the national government’s Open Skies policy, which aims to broaden air connectivity.
