Wingo Connects Aruba to Five Colombian Cities Following Network Expansion. Low-cost carrier Wingo and the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) have highlighted the growth of air connectivity between Colombia and the Caribbean island, which currently connects Aruba non-stop with five Colombian capitals: Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Bucaramanga, and Barranquilla. The expanded route network strengthens bilateral tourism and provides direct access to Aruba from key regional hubs.

Network Growth and Traffic Data

• ✈ Route Expansion: Wingo began operations to the island in December 2016 with the Bogotá–Aruba route, adding Medellín in 2022 and Cali in 2023. In 2026, the carrier launched services from Bucaramanga (June) and Barranquilla (July).
• ✈  Passenger Volume: Between January and July 2026, Wingo transported 73,000 passengers on its Aruba routes, with projections to reach approximately 150,000 total passengers by year-end.
• ✈ Passenger Profile: 84% of passengers travel for leisure, with Colombian nationals accounting for 70% of total traffic.

Bilateral Travel Impact

Jorge Jiménez, Wingo’s Commercial and Planning Vice President, and Claudia Delgado, Sales Representative for the Aruba Tourism Authority in Colombia, emphasized that the multi-city connectivity drives leisure travel to Aruba while generating inbound traffic to Colombian cities like Medellín and Barranquilla for medical tourism, business, wellness, and VFR (Visiting Friends and Relatives).
