Alaska Airlines Launches 50th Non-Stop Route from San Diego to Loreto, Mexico. Alaska Airlines is celebrating 40 years of service in San Diego with the launch of its 50th non-stop route out of San Diego International Airport (SAN). The new seasonal connection will link San Diego with Loreto, Mexico (LTO), beginning December 19, 2026, positioning Alaska Airlines as the sole carrier operating direct flights between the two markets and providing streamlined access to Baja California Sur‘s coastal region.

The seasonal service will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays through April 28, 2027. Flights will be operated by SkyWest Airlines utilizing Embraer 175 aircraft, providing travelers with direct access to Loreto‘s beaches and outdoor recreation hubs. The flights will also feature high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi, offered free of charge to Atmos Rewards members via T-Mobile.

This 50th route solidifies Alaska Airlines as the carrier with the largest selection of non-stop destinations out of San Diego, as well as a primary operator between California and Mexico. The airline considers the route launch a major milestone in its four decades of regional presence and an opportunity to further boost leisure travel across the U.S.–Mexico border.
