Finnair to Boost Tokyo Flights and Set Connectivity Record in 2027. Finnair will expand its flight offerings to Japan during the summer 2027 season, driven by robust travel demand to Asia, particularly Tokyo. The carrier will increase frequencies between Helsinki and Tokyo-Narita Airport, operating up to two daily flights during peak travel periods.
In addition to the expanded Narita schedule, Finnair will maintain its daily service to Tokyo-Haneda Airport. As a result, the airline will offer up to three daily flights between Helsinki and Tokyo during peak summer periods, setting a record for its connectivity between both capitals.

The flight schedules have been designed to streamline passenger connections from Japan across Finnair‘s extensive European network via Helsinki, enhancing flexibility for both corporate and leisure travelers.
“Japan is our largest market after Finland, and demand for flights to the country remains strong,” explained Christine Rovelli, Chief Revenue Officer at Finnair.
She noted that the additional Narita frequencies will offer broader choices and seamless connections. With these adjustments, Finnair will raise its total operations between Finland and Japan from 28 weekly flights in summer 2026 to up to 32 weekly frequencies in summer 2027.

Year-round, Finnair operates flights to Tokyo-Haneda, Tokyo-Narita, and Osaka. During the summer season, it also links Helsinki with Nagoya, standing as the sole European carrier serving this Japanese destination. The capacity boost reinforces Helsinki‘s role as a major connection hub linking Japan and Europe.
