SATENA Connects Montería to Panama City for the First Time with Nonstop Flights. SATENA will take a historic step in its international expansion with the launch of a new direct route between Montería and Panama City. Service is scheduled to begin on October 26, 2026, becoming the Colombian state-owned carrier’s sole international operation.

The new connection will operate three weekly frequencies—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays—linking Montería‘s Los Garzones Airport (MTR) with Tocumen International Airport (PTY), Panama‘s main gateway. Flights will be operated using Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft configured for 50 passengers. Ticket sales are set to open on October 3.
Integrating this route will allow passengers from Córdoba and other regions of the Colombian Caribbean to directly access one of Latin America‘s major aviation hubs, bypassing connections in other Colombia cities. From Panama, travelers can connect seamlessly to multiple international destinations across the expansive network centered at Tocumen.

The route also aims to boost visitor arrivals to Montería while strengthening tourism, corporate, and commercial ties between Córdoba, Panama, and broader international markets. For SATENA, the launch marks another phase in its strategy to expand regional Colombian connectivity to international points. This international operation represents a significant shift for the airline, which has historically focused on internal connectivity across Colombia.
With this new service, Montería joins SATENA‘s international network, while Panama City becomes the carrier’s first destination served directly outside Colombia. The airline seeks to establish a new gateway for the department of Córdoba and facilitate passenger movement to other markets in the Americas, enhancing Montería‘s role in regional air connectivity.
