Discussions focused on major regulatory and operational topics, such as ANAC‘s Resolution 800 regarding onboard and airport security, continuous improvement methodologies like Lean, and the promotion of a “Just Culture” centered on transparency and non-punitive incident reporting.
“Safety is a collective journey without a finish line,” stated André Fehlauer, CEO of GOL, while Alexandre Gandini, Director of Operational Safety at the airline, emphasized that transparent communication provides real-time data to prevent incidents before they occur.
A featured panel addressed strategic perspectives for Abra Group—which encompasses GOL, Avianca, and Wamos Air—featuring Adrian Neuhauser, CEO of Abra Group, and Stephen Kavanagh, Chairman of the Group’s Safety Council, moderated by Sérgio Quito. The executives highlighted safety as the overarching core value across all group airlines and outlined the role of the Abra Safety Committee in maintaining independent and disciplined safety oversight.

In closing remarks, Albert Pérez, President and COO of GOL, reinforced the value of industry collaboration in advancing safety standards. Attendees also engaged with technical exhibits from SAFRAN and CFM, and experienced a Boeing flight simulator recreating challenging landings at Rio de Janeiro‘s Santos Dumont Airport (SDU).
