Arajet retoma sus vuelos entre Guayaquil y Punta Cana con ocupación total

Arajet Restores Direct Nonstop Flights Between Guayaquil and Punta Cana with 100% Load Factor. Dominican low-cost carrier Arajet has officially restarted scheduled commercial operations at José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport (GYE) in Guayaquil, restoring direct air connectivity with Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) in the Dominican Republic. The route revival forms part of the airline’s broader strategy to reinforce its commercial footprint within the Ecuadorian aviation market while expanding connecting travel options linking South America, the Caribbean, and North America. The initial flights operated at full capacity, achieving a 100% passenger load factor across all available seats.

The updated route schedule features four weekly frequencies linking both coastal cities. Flights originating in Punta Cana heading to Guayaquil will operate on Mondays and Fridays, while return services departing Guayaquil bound for the Dominican resort destination will fly on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Beyond point-to-point travel between Ecuador and the Dominican Republic, the service allows Ecuadorian passengers to leverage Punta Cana as a transit hub to access connecting flights across Arajet‘s route map, including key international destinations such as Cancún, Miami, Orlando, and San Juan in Puerto Rico.

José Cabrera, Vice President of Communications and Public Relations at Arajet, emphasized that returning to Guayaquil represents a significant milestone in the carrier’s growth plan for Ecuador, noting that sold-out opening flights signal strong market demand. Ecuador remains a major source market for Dominican tourism; during 2025, approximately 67,600 Ecuadorian tourists visited the island nation, marking a 4% increase compared to annual figures recorded in 2024.

Re-establishing service to Guayaquil aligns with Arajet‘s master plan to turn the Dominican Republic into a strategic hub for continental air transit across the Western Hemisphere. The airline currently maintains an active operational network spanning 30 destinations across the Americas and has transported over four million passengers since launching commercial operations.
